Feels like home. Feels like family. Kampala's home for functional fitness.
MetaFit256 was built as a family first, and a gym second.
Kabalagala's home for functional fitness, on the 4th floor of Tirupati Mazima Mall.
From toddlers to 50+ athletes, everyone has a place on this floor.
Uganda's first and only training facility designed with elite athletes and 500+ clients in mind.
MetaFit256 is your gym in Kampala for all types of fitness training: cross-training, bodybuilding, powerlifting, mobility workouts and resistance-based classes. Any type of training that inspires you to enter the gym can be found at MF256.
Whether you work out simply to clear your mind, or your goals are sport-specific training to be the best athlete possible, we have the equipment and trainers to help you accomplish your goals. The MetaFit256 community takes great pride in our ability to educate, encourage, support, and motivate everyone who enters.
If that's what you're looking for, we are THE gym for you.
Our team has a history of playing sports, coaching, and training abroad.
Upon arriving in Uganda nine years ago, we found a massive void: there was no modern wellness facility. Several years later we began to address the fitness and training aspect of that void, and designed a modern fitness facility focused on functional movements, an effective and efficient cardio program, and top-of-the-line sports performance training.
We believe we have accomplished these goals, while remaining true to our vision of providing education, support, and a welcoming community to everyone who enters our doors.
Feels like home.— MetaFit256 The Gym
Feels like family.
"When I arrived in Uganda I found a community hungry for fitness."
Erik arrived in Uganda in 2013 on a health sabbatical after a year-long battle with a bone disease. A lifelong sportsman across basketball, football, skiing, swimming and tennis, he had joined gym after gym over the years, and quit every one of them. It wasn't until the age of 45 that he finally found a gym he stuck with, and it changed his life.
In Kampala he saw the hunger everywhere: the MTN Marathon, the Kabaka's Run, packed aerobics classes, Sunday morning runs through the hills. But inside the gyms he found outdated equipment, unqualified trainers, and no community. Three things were missing: modern training equipment, knowledgeable trainers, and a place where people lift each other up.
So he built the gym he had been searching for. Resistance-based programming instead of aimless machines. The most educated and qualified trainers in the region. And a community where everyone, from first-timers to national-team athletes, is coached, supported and welcomed by name. That gym is MetaFit256.
"I am working not to best anyone else, only to best who I was yesterday."
